First Snowdrops 2012

I had a run out to Cairn Holly today where I helped my old friend Joshua Proskauer from New York with his ongoing research into the stones.

It wasn’t long before the cold wind chased me off that bare hillside and I followed the stream down through the woods to the sea —

I managed to slip off the wet mossy rocks into the stream during one of my many crossings. I was lucky to get away with a soaking and a twisted ankle.

Finding my first snowdrops of 2012 on the first day of the year more than made up for my soaking —
