I have checked with those who know about such things on Google and it would appear that there are no Black Swans in the wild in the Northern Hemisphere. They were in New Zealand at one time but became extinct. The two places that they can still be found are in south east and south west Australia.
Well I live in south west Scotland and I took these photos of a Black Swan in the hills about twenty miles from my home today — I hope she doesn’t mind the ice on the loch —
I have a white blackbird visits my garden and now a black swan – not doing badly for an apprentice Twitcher 🙂
