I found a spot where the tar runs out today – in a car park at the end of a public road.
Normally this wouldn’t stop the Ten and I but we had entered a Shooting Estate and by the looks of this notice board there are a few itchy trigger fingers about.
I can count five ‘No’s’ on that forbidding board. Make it six cos the Ten doesn’t want to give them reason for target practise either.
Nothing else for it but find a spot on the riverbank over by the bridge in the sun and break out the flask of tea and a sandwich —
with blue skies breaking through overhead —
and primroses at my feet.
Even better – when I got home – switched on telly and caught up with the Giro D’Italia cycle race where today’s stage is based around Imola Race Circuit the poor boys were suffering in pouring rain.
Our weather here in sou-west Scotland isn’t so bad after all 🙂
