Nov 5th – we had our fireworks for the island down in the old Cullipool Slate Quarry last night. With a cold north wind on our backs and breaking seas just over the bank it was a night to be wrapped up warm.
The bonfire pile had been steadily growing over the past few months – reaching respectable levels by Friday afternoon when H n I added our three car loads.
That same north wind made sure it didn’t last too long once it was lit and as the flames settled the firework display took over.
All went well without any drama —
Unlike the 2011 display in Oban – which is still talked about in these parts and thanks to the wonders of youtube we can show it here and now.
Marvellous! Even if things did get out of hand and the whole £3000.00 display went up in a minute! 🙂
