Thankfully the BBC weather service got it right today —

It would have been a long run out to the east coast to have lost it in a smothering North Sea Haar —

No worries — an early rise had us there in time to catch a bit of welcome sunshine —

Even Loki was impressed —

While Helen seemed intent in bringing half the beach home with her —

and the harbour where I lost my bucket and spade when I lived here as a bairn seventy seven years ago looks to be in need of some TLC 🥺

We visited this cottage on the way home – a few miles inland – where my dad had moved us to in time for the big sna’ of winter 1947 looks as if it had been virtually rebuilt. I still remember the morning when dad opened the door to find a wall of snow – it had drifted right over the roof and he had to dig his way out of our igloo!
