On the Trail of Beatrice Potter —

With Helen operating camera – where better to start than in our own garden this morning —

with a mixture of shamrocks and violets – then we pointed the Yeti for Birnam where the young Beatrice spent so much time in her early years —
Almost there but we found the Rumbling Bridge closed to vehicles and had to backtrack —
to a helpful signpost – for walkers —
Just one of the many houses in the area with Beatrice Potter connections – however tenuous —
At least this bridge was still in situ so we didn’t get our feet wet —
and settled for a light lunch at the magnificent Beatrice Potter Arts Centre in Birnam – across the River Tay from Dunkeld —
A first for me – not only did I have Baked Camambert for the first time in my life —

but I find myself beginning to relax and enjoy these long chatty lunches —

I am no Android —

Says my mobile phone after turning everything to soup over the past twelve hours.

I’m a one for switching things off – as Helen knows only too well as I annoyingly follow her around the house switching lights out. We don’t really need ’em in daylight now do we 🙄

Anyway – while looking for ways to improve my unbreakable Nokia XR20 this morning – I must have inadvertantly switched it over to ‘Android’ mode. The whole phone ground to a halt – I thought I’d killed it!

This evening much head scratching and banging the recalcitrant phone about got me back in business better than new.

And here’s a photo of our mini-rhododendron flowering in the border to prove it – Magic! 🤠

Hot Air Balloon —

We got all sorts of visitors when we lived at Bardrishaig on the Isle of Luing —

In fact one morning we woke up to find that Seamus the ginger tabby cat had arrived in a hot air balloon and he has been with us ever since 😾

From Wormit to Dundee —

I parked the bike by this interesting ‘monument’ for want of a better word – while having a coffee at the wee caf round the corner recently —

The view is from Wormit approx three miles across the Tay estuary to Dundee on the north shore.

I wish I had taken the time to check out the ornamental tower thingy – centre/right – to see what it’s for. Every time I see this pic I’m left wondering – too small for a bandstand and the Tay Bridge disaster memorial is elsewhere.

Guess I will just have to go back on another ride and check it out 😎

Two shots from Tiree —

all that’s left of a boat long abandoned —

and a nostalgic sunset —
Tiree does them so well 😔
