Latest CCM Motorcycle —

As seen in Oban today —

It certainly looks superb but I’m not sure if I would like one —

I can’t imagine riding far on it .. not like the X-ADV 750 which is a jack-of-all trades —

and with 11000 miles on the clock is averaging 1000 miles a month —

David Stirling Memorial —

On the Hill of Row – the founder of the SAS looks out on my favourite view —

In the corner of a field sown with grain —

much as it was sixty odd years ago when I stepped down from the Massey Ferguson combine harvester and told the farmer I was for offski – or words to that effect …

There was to be no looking back for this wilful teenager in a hurry to see more than the farm work he had been born into —

Mechanical engineering was to be my saviour and lead me on to roam the world while working in its various forms —

Well retired now – and living on the other side of these hills beyond my Honda X-ADV750 – I often find myself back in this field as I remember things from the intervening years.

Would I do it all again?

The Devil is in the Detail —

Helen’s latest painting – a work of art so brand new it hasn’t even got a name yet —

and as can be seen in this tiny segment cropped from the bottom lefthand portion of the wildflowers by the shore —

The Devil is in the Detail!

Apple’s and Pears —

Things have been happening in our beautiful garden while I’ve been taking a rest from blogging —

The Bramley’s are in their second year and we have fruit for the first time!

The pears we planted the same year aren’t doing to bad either —
