Innerpeffary Library —

which lies a few miles east of Crieff was the first lending library to be created in Scotland —

Originally formed in the attic of St Mary’s Chapel – built on a knoll on the banks of the River Earn near a ford used by the Roman Legions 2,000 years ago – the library now occupies the whole building —

With views over Crieff to Glen Turret and Ben Chonzie just part of a 360 degree sweep of the eye —

even now in mid-winter while the chapel itself is closed till spring

Crazy Weather —

Being a biker I’m also a weather watcher and our current weather must be very difficult to forecast but the BBC weather team are seldom far wrong —

Today with temperatures hovering around freezing Helen and I headed for Dunblane over the Moors to Braco —

Snow melt water was frozen on the fields and the hills above Dalchonzie were still white with snow —

But our moorland road was clear of snow although several streams ran from the roadside over ice at the lower levels —

We had some lovely views north to Ben Chonzie on our way home mid-afternoon —

Our Hogmanay lunch out may have been a disappointment —

but the trip out and back was no hardship at all – wishing everyone a happy new year and all the best for 2023 👍😊🥳

First Proper Snow of the Year —

On the Tops – looking over Crieff and up Glen Turret —

The snow is down around the two thousand feet mark on Ben Chonzie and looks like staying as we have been promised a few clear frosty days this week 👍
